Find Your Peace at Carmen, Cebu

Welcome to the Peaceful Town of Carmen ... where streets are clean and lined with trees  ... where pebbled-beach shores are trash-free   . ... where few ancestral homes still stand ... where mountain springs are refreshingly cold and flows abundantly ... where the Child Jesus and the  angels invite you to take the stairway to Heaven ... where saints seem to silently guide you as you walk towards Him Come, visit Carmen now... ... and may Peace be with you always~~~ The town is an hour and a half bus ride from  Cebu City which will just cost you P 30, and another 30-peso habal-habal ride from the town proper to the monastery.  The Eco-Farm is just a walking distance from the monastery.

Explore the Town of Oslob

According to the story passed through generations, a couple was resting under the tree, eating boiled bananas while dipping it in vinegar and salt. Spanish guards then suddenly showed up asking, “Como se llama esto pueblo?” or “What is the name of this town?” when translated in English. The couple, not knowing the Spanish language, misunderstood the question and presuming that the guards were asking on what they are doing, they answered, “toslob” or “dipping” the bananas into the vinegar and salt. After hearing the word, the guards kept on repeating the word and eventually listed it down as the name of the town. As time passed by, the “t” was dropped, making it Oslob, the current name of the place. It's about 4 hours from Cebu City. The Church of the Nuestra Senora de la Inmaculada Concepcion established in 1849 was Romanesque in style.  The tower was supposed to be a four-storey but the construction was stopped because of a storm and earthquake.  ...

I've loved you for A Thousand Years...

I think I may have died and became a real vampire in this picture   I'm not a really big fan of "Twilight," (although I have read all the books (^_^) but I just looove Christina Perri's song.   I feel that I can relate to being a vampire who has been roaming around this world for centuries... I don't think that we have met already... but that's okay...   ~ I hope and pray that he is just out there somewhere... if I have to die and live again just to be with him, I'd gladly do it... aw!  * I hope that when he hears this song,  he will somehow feel that  there's someone  who has loved him for a thousand years...  One step closer I have died every day Waiting for you Darlin' don't be afraid, I have loved you for a Thousand years I'll love you for a Thousand more And all along I believed I would find you Time has brought Your heart to me I have loved you for a Thousand years I'll...

Twilight Flowers

Well into the night Into what seems so right Your essence quivering from excitement Yearning for acceptance From all that's within Your beauty lay before me Under the warm glow of light Wish it'll remain like this Forever into the twilight... ~ ~ ~  poem and shot: got inspired from reading the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer.. it seems that every thing reminds me of it...  i don't want to admit that I'm addicted to it ;-)    lol! I know Heaven can wait And all the gods come down here just to sing for me And the melody’s gonna make me fly Without pain Without fear Give me all of your dreams And let me go along on your way Give me all of your prayers to sing And I’ll turn the night into the skylight of day It’s all I really need to make me stay -- ~ ~ ~  from MeatLoaf 's song, Heaven Can Wait We stand on the threshold of a twilight - whether morning or evening we do not know... One is followed by the nigh...

When Tea Blooms...

“Have you not noticed that  the wild flowers  are becoming scarcer every year?  It may be that some wise men  have told them to depart  till man becomes more human.  Perhaps they have migrated to heaven.”  ~ Kakuzō Okakura, The Book of Tea ~ I  was cleaning my cupboard when I saw a blooming teapod which I was sure had reached its expiration. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a decent glass teacup or kettle. I still tried to check it anyway...  found an old magazine to match it and to have a dramatic effect... and hoped it worked great ~ ~

Muddy Shoes

i've had my share of muddy shoes...  running in the rain with other kids...  playing in rusty playgrounds...  laughing and fooling around...  and when we get home,  we hear interesting words from our moms  and we didn't really quite comprehend  what they were mad about... hahaaa...  oh, those are wonderful memories that are great to reminisce once in a while... ~

A Few Good Men

An intelligent man opens your mind... A handsome man opens your eyes... A gentleman opens your heart... A godly man opens your heart, mind and soul to God... He respects the virtues and values of the woman he loves... and the only reason he looked up to see you is because he heard God say "That's her." "Take care of her." ~

A Child Is Born

The real meaning of Christmas... For God so loved the world that  He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ,  so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  (John 3:16)

Two Worlds

We come from two different worlds but that silly thing called  Love brought us together... and so we continue to shine brightly for each other... for how long? as long as Love exists... ~

Number the Stars

"It is much easier to be brave if you do not know everything. And so your mama does not know everything. Neither do I. We know only what we need to know." “The whole world had changed. Only the fairy tales remained the same. And they lived happily ever after,”  * This is my own version of Annemarie Johansen - the kind-hearted 10-year-old Danish girl from the book,  Number the Stars , (by Lois Lowry) - who helped her Jewish bestfriend from the hands of the Nazis.  It will always be one of my favorite books! ~
