A Red Rose

Somehow, seeing this flower reminded me of e.e. cummings' poem, "Somewhere I Have Never Traveled, Gladly"    with the song, The First Time I loved Forever: Lyrics by Melanie Safka Music by Lee Holdridge Sung by Lisa Angelle (From "Beauty and the Beast") "I do not know  what it is about you  that closes  and opens.  Only something in me understands... ~ ~ ~

Twilight Flowers

Well into the night Into what seems so right Your essence quivering from excitement Yearning for acceptance From all that's within Your beauty lay before me Under the warm glow of light Wish it'll remain like this Forever into the twilight... ~ ~ ~  poem and shot: got inspired from reading the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer.. it seems that every thing reminds me of it...  i don't want to admit that I'm addicted to it ;-)    lol! I know Heaven can wait And all the gods come down here just to sing for me And the melody’s gonna make me fly Without pain Without fear Give me all of your dreams And let me go along on your way Give me all of your prayers to sing And I’ll turn the night into the skylight of day It’s all I really need to make me stay -- ~ ~ ~  from MeatLoaf 's song, Heaven Can Wait We stand on the threshold of a twilight - whether morning or evening we do not know... One is followed by the nigh...

Moalboal Seaside Getaway

One cloudy early morning, we drove down to the southwestern countryside of the island. What do you expect of me on a trip like this? Of course, nothing else ~ but take as much pictures as I can ~ I thank you God for this most amazing day,  for the leaping greenly spirits of trees,  and for the blue dream of sky  and for everything which is natural,  which is infinite,  which is yes.  ~ e.e. cummings There is one spectacle grander than the sea,  that is the sky;  there is one spectacle grander than the sky,  that is the interior of the soul.  ~ Victor Hugo I  cannot get  that beautiful afternoon  out of my head,  above me where I lay  the grass was silhouetted  against the blue of the heavens,  small clouds were rushing past  as the wind drove them  on an endless journey.  ~ Julia Lee-Booker Gray skies are just clouds ...

What Makes a Government?

The sight of these purple blue flowers  led me to the Provincial Capitol of Cebu City. I've passed by this building a few times  but never really bothered to drop by until today...  It was almost closing time though so the guard just let me in for a quick peek. When I looked up at the dome, this was the first word I saw. oh a lot of things can be said about the Philippines' Justice System but I have hope for a better future. If there's Justice, Equality must follow... I am just as optimistic about this as well. If people will work together towards clean and good governance, there's no doubt that this country would be among the best in the world... where every one can stand proud of being a Filipino...  Just as the first Filipino hero, Lapu-Lapu, (who apparently was not originally a local) who fought against the Spaniards  (which led to the death of Ferdinand Magellan in 1521) we m...

Travel Destinations in the Philippines

A travel exhibit at SM City Cebu Trade Hall is happening this week showcasing different provinces in the Philippines... booths are filled with various sights... enticing everyone to go, travel and explore... Here are some of the places I dream of exploring: ~ Ilocos Province in the northern part of the Philippines  has some of the most well-preserved churches  and ancestral homes in the country. ~ ~ Its neighboring province of Cagayan will surely not fail to satisfy any explorer ~ ~ Together with the province of Camarines...  ...the province of Sorsogon located at the tip of Bicol Region  is definitely one of the places worth-visiting ~ ~ I wish to discover the beauty of this province since I don't hear much about this place which is located in between Samar and Leyte ~ ~ I hope to explore every town in the islands of Cebu and Bohol ~ ~ The islands of Palawan are among my bucket li...
